#7 The Funny Thing About Walking on Sky

April looked down, the sky was massive beneath her feet. Unblemished by clouds, it was a hazy, dark blue expanse that curved away to nothingness at the edges of her vision. She took a step, her foot looking like it should fall away into the infinity of space. It didn’t. The funny thing about walking on sky is that it feels quite soft and spongy, like walking on top of a marshmallow. April looked up and saw the Earth. Millions of lights started to twinkle as day turned to night and people tried to keep out the darkness that bit longer. She wondered if she jumped, would she be able to reach them? Would gravity finally lay hands on her and pull her to the ground, to company? She tried. Nothing. She was stuck. Stuck always looking down from the fringes of the world. Stuck to the sky alone.
